HIV will never cure itself but, with your help, we just might . . .
There are 38 million lives that are impacted by HIV globally. Each year, over 1.5 million people become newly infected, and over 650,000 die of HIV-related causes. Here in San Diego County, HIV continues to be a major public health threat, with one new diagnosis occurring every 18 hours.
Despite significant advances, there remain enormous real-world challenges in the prevention, rapid diagnosis, and care of HIV.
The HIV Institute has fought HIV domestically and abroad for more than 24 years, bringing breakthroughs from the research laboratory bench to patients’ bedsides. We provide vital funding to researchers and clinicians who are saving and improving lives with cutting-edge research and treatments. But we need your help to support cure-focused research that brings fresh perspectives, innovation, and renewed drive to the study of HIV!
Your tax-deductible gift to the Institute will support the lifesaving research that is key to finding new treatments, better prevention methods, and eventually a cure. With your help, we can create an HIV-free generation!
From every dollar donated, 94 cents goes directly into programs at the forefront of ending the HIV epidemic! Learn more about ways you can support these vital efforts by browsing our giving opportunities or emailing us. Learn more about our case for support (PDF).
